This Catās Birthday Party Went Hilariously Wrong
Planning a party for your cat? You might want to skip the singing. One TikTok-famous cat named Gary recently proved that not every feline enjoys the spotlight. When her owner surprised her with a birthday serenade and a cake, complete with a lit candle, Garyās reaction was a firm and immediate ānope.ā
While some cats might tolerate a little fanfare, others are more sensitive to things like loud sounds, fire, or unexpected attention. Gary flinched at the first note and quickly left the scene, but reportedly enjoyed the frozen Churu cake later on.
If your cat gets spooked easily, itās best to keep celebrations low-key. Vet experts note that fearful triggers, like sudden noises, can stick with cats and lead to behavior changes. A cozy lap and a favorite treat might be all the party they need.

Cat of the Day, Diego

Heās got a soft spot for cozy blankets and even cozier naps, as you can seeāand if Annās nearby, thatās his favorite spot to be.

Why Your Cat Makes That Weird Face
Ever seen your cat sniff something and suddenly pull a face like they just smelled something awful? That wide-eyed, lip-curled expression is officially called the flehmen response, and itās more about science than sass.
The flehmen response helps cats access a hidden olfactory system called the vomeronasal organ (or Jacobsonās organ), located above the roof of the mouth. Itās their way of analyzing pheromonesāchemical messages left behind by other cats (or even you). Yes, when your cat sniffs your laundry and āmakes a face,ā it might just be them doing a little scent detective work.
They usually do it after sniffing something intriguing, like another catās scent, a new visitor, or something thatās been outside. Itās not disgustāitās curiosity.
So next time your cat gives you the infamous āstink face,ā donāt take it personally. It might look dramatic, but itās all instinct.
