Snow White, the Rescue Cat

At an overcrowded shelter, a calico cat arrived carrying seven tiny kittens, just three weeks old. What should have been a happy moment was overshadowed by the devastating injuries. A vicious dog attack had left her with a ruptured eye and a fractured jaw. Yet, despite the pain, this mother kept nursing her babies with unwavering devotion.

Rescue volunteer Lori quickly stepped in, and the cat received emergency surgery to remove the damaged eye. Miraculously, her jaw remained functional, allowing her to keep feeding her litter. Lori brought her home to foster, turning her bathroom into a safe space for recovery.

Lori named the brave cat Snow White, and her seven kittens became the Seven Dwarfs. They each earned their name as their personalities emerged.

Snow White’s healing wasn’t without setbacks, but her gentle nature and resilience carried her through. With community support, donations, and round-the-clock care, she and her kittens transformed from a tragic rescue into a thriving family with a fairytale ending.

Why Does My Cat Make a Funny Smelling Face?

Ever notice your cat sniff something, then freeze with their mouth open and lip curled? That hilarious ā€œstinky faceā€ has a name: the Flehmen response.

When cats do this, they’re not disgusted. They’re gathering more info. By opening their mouth, they draw scent particles over a special structure called the vomeronasal organ, located on the roof of the mouth. This organ helps decode pheromones, the invisible chemical messages left by other animals.

It only takes a second for your cat to process the scent, but you might see them tilt their head or stretch their neck for the best angle. Male cats often use the Flehmen response when sniffing a female’s scent, but any intriguing odor could trigger it.

As funny as it looks, the Flehmen response is totally normal. It’s simply your cat’s way of tapping into their second ā€œsuper-noseā€ and learning more about their world.

What if You Never Had to Clean Gutters Again?

Most gutter guards promise the world but still leave you climbing ladders to clear debris.

LeafGuard takes a completely different approach—instead of adding another layer to your existing gutters, they replace your entire system with a one-piece design that's engineered so debris never gets inside.

The science is pretty straightforward: water follows the curved hood into the gutter using liquid adhesion, while leaves, pine needles, and debris roll right off. No joints mean no leaks, and the aluminum is 20% thicker than standard gutters. With over 650,000 ladder-related injuries happening annually, eliminating gutter maintenance isn't just convenient—it's smart.

Daily Purr readers can take advantage of 75% off installation plus an additional $200 off. That's significant savings on a system backed by a lifetime no-clog guarantee and 25+ years of proven performance.

Meet Cat of the Day, Ian

Meet Ian, Daily Purr reader Barbara’s handsome Ginger boy. Adopted from a rescue 2 ½ years ago at the age of 12, Ian has been proving every day that older kitties have just as much love (and personality) to share.

Though he’s still feral at heart, Ian has come a long way. He now lets his mom pet his paw, which makes her so happy. And clearly, he’s mastered the art of cozy naps, tongue out and all.

Ian’s story is a reminder of the joy that comes with adopting senior and feral cats. With patience and care, they’ll show you just how special they are.
