This Stray Cat Walked In and Never Left
When a black cat appeared outside Ashleyās home, she recognized him as the quiet stray that had been wandering her neighborhood. One night, she meowed to him, and he meowed back. That small exchange led to a heartwarming twist of fate.
Instead of running away, the cat confidently walked across the street, up the driveway, and straight through her open door. When Ashleyās son, Rome, came downstairs, the cat climbed right into his lap, purring and kneading as if heād always belonged there.
They named him Nox, and after confirming he had no owner, officially adopted him. Now Nox follows Rome everywhere, demanding cuddles and nose boops, content to never roam again. As Ashley put it, āHe 100 percent chose our family.ā

The Truth About Fever Coat in Cats
Some kittens are born with pale, frosted-looking fur that fades as they growāand itās not a new color trend. This rare condition, known as fever coat, happens when a pregnant cat experiences fever or extreme stress, affecting the pigment development in her kittensā coats. The result is fur that looks silver, cream, or red-tinted, often lighter at the tips and darker at the roots.
Though striking, fever coat is harmless. The kittensā true color appears gradually over the first few months as they shed their early fur. The condition reflects the motherās health during pregnancy, not the kittenās.
Fever coat can appear in solid, patchy, or striped patterns, but all fade with time. So if your kitten looks like theyāve been dusted with silver, enjoy it while it lasts. Itās a rare, temporary reminder of how remarkable nature can be.

Catnip Is Natureās Bug Spray for Cats
Catnip doesnāt just make cats roll, purr, and zoom around. It also repels mosquitoes. Researchers found that the same chemical that gets cats blissed out, nepetalactone, acts as a natural insect repellent. When cats lick, bite, or rub against catnip or its cousin, silver vine, they release more of this protective scent from the damaged leaves.
The behavior isnāt just adorable. Itās instinctive. By coating themselves in nepetalactone, cats may gain a chemical shield against mosquitoes and other parasites. Even big cats like lions and tigers respond the same way, though dogs couldnāt care less.
So, while your cat is happily rolling around in a pile of catnip, theyāre not just having fun. Theyāre giving themselves a dose of natural pest protection. Who knew playtime doubled as self-care?
