Coralineās Curious Cat Trail
Portland just got a lot more purr-sonal with the launch of "Coralineās Curious Cat Trail," a whimsical collection of 30 cat statues inspired by the iconic Cat from the movie Coraline. These feline figures, each decorated by talented artists, have popped up all over the city to add a splash of color and creativity to Portlandās streets. Whether you're a fan of Coraline or just love a good feline adventure, this trail is a cat-tastic way to explore the city.
The Cat Trail celebrates the 15th anniversary of Laikaās Oscar-nominated film. The celebration kicked off with a special unveiling of a cat designed by Katy Hughes from Laika and Rosie Chambers, a 9-year-old cat lover and patient at OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital. With blue fur and rose-shaped eyes, their cat is as charming as it is eerie, capturing the spirit of Coraline's mysterious world. The best part? The statues will be auctioned off for a great cause, raising funds for OHSU Doernbecher Childrenās Hospitalāso you can snap a selfie with a cat, then maybe even take one home.

Catnip Pumpkin Toy
Get ready to make your felineās fall dreams come true with this adorable catnip pumpkin toy. Itās the purr-fect combination of seasonal charm and kitty chaos, so grab your supplies and craft a toy thatās so cute, itāll make your cat question why they ever settled for that boring old ball of yarn.
Supplies:
4"x4" orange felt
1"x 1/2" brown or tan felt
Small piece of green felt
Catnip or catnip spray
Invisible thread
3 cotton balls
Instructions:
Trim the corners off the orange felt to create a circle.
With a needle and a long piece of thread, stitch around the edge of the circle. The stitches should be large, measuring about Ā½ā each.
When youāve completed the circle, push the needle through the original hole at the other end of the thread.
Place the cotton balls in the center of the circle along with a generous pinch of catnip or a spritz of catnip spray.
Pull the needle and thread to close the circle around the stuffing. Be sure to pull the thread tight to completely seal the toy.
Run the thread through the pleats youāve just created. Wrap the thread around the base of the toy and then back through the pleats. Repeat this process a few times to create indents around the felt and make it look like a pumpkin.
Roll the brown piece of felt into a tube. Push the needle and thread through the base of the tube to keep the felt rolled up. Sew it to the top of the pumpkin. Be sure to use a few stitches to hold it securely in place.
Cut the green felt into a small leaf shape and sew it to the base of the stem. Again, use several stitches to make sure it stays in place during play.
Tie off the thread and trim the end.
Give your adorable creation to your kitty and watch the fun begin.
