The Science of Stealing

In the picturesque town of Frigiliana, Spain, a family of feline banditsā€”Daisy, Dora, and Manchitaā€”has been making quite the fashion statement, though not exactly the one their owner, Rachel Womack, had in mind. These three cats have turned their neighborhood into a thrift store, amassing a dizzying collection of socks, underpants, baby cardigans, and even a stuffed bear. Their daily heists have made the local gossip circuit, leaving Rachel in a bit of a bind trying to return these rogue items to their rightful owners.

Meanwhile, researchers are scratching their heads over why these cats are so obsessed with pilfering peopleā€™s laundry. It seems these fluffy kleptomaniacs arenā€™t trying to be considerate gift-givers but rather are following their primal instincts, just with a twist of the absurd. Whether theyā€™re after attention, extra playtime, or just a taste of adventure, one thingā€™s for sureā€”these cats are proving that their idea of a treasure hunt is a lot more bizarre than anyone could have imagined.

Crinkle Pom-Pom Cat Toy

Ready to bring a little more chaos into your catā€™s life? Grab your crafting gear and prepare to make the ultimate cat toyā€”a crinkly pom-pom thatā€™ll have your feline furball bouncing off the walls with joy.

Supplies:

  • Yarn (worsted weight or lighter)

  • Chocolate or candy wrappers

  • Pom-pom maker

  • Dental floss

  • Small, sharp scissors

Instructions:

  1. Trim candy wrappers into one-inch strips.

  2. Lay one strip of wrapper across your pom-pom maker, pinching it in the middle to fit if needed.

  3. Wrap one layer of yarn tightly around the wrapper.

  4. Place a second strip of wrapper over the first layer of yarn. Add a second layer of yarn over the second wrapper. The more yarn you can add, the fuller your pom-pom will be.

  5. Repeat the above steps with the second half of the pom-pom maker.

  6. Snip through the yarn as described in the instructions for your pom-pom maker.

  7. Cut a long piece of dental floss and tie the pom-pom together as tightly as possible with a knot.

  8. Wrap the floss around the pom-pom to the other side and tie a second tight knot.

  9. Remove the pom-pom maker and trim any excess length from the yarn and dental floss.

  10. Roll the pom-pom around in your hands to fluff it up and hide the seam.

  11. Toss the new toy to your whiskered wonder and watch the fun begin.

The Benefits of Collagen

Soā€¦ what exactly does collagen do, again? This nutrient is Insta-trending for a reason ā€“ itā€™s essential for healthy skin, joints, and bones. The big bummer: many collagen supplements are made with artificial ingredients and (gross) animal byproducts. NativePath has a different approach. NativePath collagen is certified grass-fed and pure, and sourced from 100% happy, healthy cowsā€¦ so you can put nutrients into a happy, healthy human. It provides Types 1 and 3 collagen ā€“ more than 90% of your bodyā€™s needs. Plus, itā€™s tasty and provides 20 grams of protein, so youā€™ll get lots of energy to boot. Things Cats Collect and Why

Cats have a knack for keeping life interesting, and their quirky habit of collecting random objects is a prime example. While some felines prefer the traditional mouse or toy, others have taken up a more unconventional hobby, amassing an array of curious items like jewelry, bottle caps, and rubber bands. Itā€™s as if theyā€™re holding their own feline flea market, with a special affinity for anything that sparkles or makes a crinkly noise. From the dazzling allure of a shiny ring to the irresistible jingle of a plastic bottle cap, these items seem to turn any ordinary day into a scavenger hunt.

But why exactly are cats so obsessed with these peculiar treasures? Researchers are still scratching their heads, but theories abound. It could be a mix of resource guarding, innate hunting instincts, or just plain old curiosity. Despite their less-than-practical choices for collectibles, such as cardboard boxes and even socks or underwear, these feline hoarders are just following their instincts. But remember, while cats might love to gather these treasures, itā€™s best to keep small, dangerous items out of reach to avoid any unplanned trips to the vet.
