What Your Cat’s Litter Box Reveals
The litter box may not be glamorous, but it can be surprisingly informative. A cat’s bathroom routine can offer early clues about their health, especially since cats are experts at acting normal when something feels off.
Changes in urination, stool, frequency, or box behavior can point to urinary, digestive, kidney, stress, or mobility issues. Straining, blood, diarrhea, constipation, crying, repeated trips, or going outside the box are all worth paying attention to.
Urinary changes can become serious quickly, especially for male cats. If a cat is straining, passing only tiny amounts of urine, or can’t pee, that can be an emergency.
Litter box problems aren’t always “bad behavior,” either. Pain, arthritis, anxiety, illness, or a box that’s too hard to enter can all change how a cat uses it.
The easier it is to keep the box fresh and monitor your cat’s routine, the easier it is to notice what’s normal. When something changes, a quick vet call is always better than guessing.

Meet The Cat Helping Kids Wear Glasses
Truffles started life as a stray kitten, but she ended up with a very important job. At a pediatric optical practice in Pennsylvania, she helps children feel more comfortable about wearing glasses.
Her owner, an optician, quickly noticed how smart Truffles was. With treat-based training, Truffles learned tricks like high fives, fist bumps, and eventually wearing her own soft, comfortable glasses.
The glasses were fitted with care, much like they would be for a small child. They were curved gently around her head and kept clear of her whiskers so she’d stay comfortable.
For kids who feel nervous or embarrassed, seeing Truffles in glasses can make everything feel less scary. Sometimes, she even wears an eye patch to help children who need one feel more confident.
It’s a tiny act of cat magic, but it works. When Truffles walks in wearing her glasses, kids don’t just see a cute cat. They see a little friend who gets it.

Cat of the day, Bambi
Meet Bambi, a 13-year-old sweetheart submitted by Daily Purr reader Gary.
Bambi has been loved from the very beginning. After Gary rescued her pregnant mother, the family decided to keep all the kittens together, and Bambi grew up alongside her siblings, her mom, and Gary’s daughter, who was born on the same day.
Now known as “Love Cat,” Bambi is the cuddly queen of the house. She has a cozy kitty mansion to enjoy, but her favorite place is still close to the people who have loved her all along.
