From Barn Babies to Forever Family
When rescuers answered a call about an overcrowded barn, they didnāt expect to meet two kittens destined to become sisters. Among more than twenty babies needing care, two tiny fighters, one smoky gray and one sleek black, stood out.
The gray kitten, later named Bean, struggled with old injuries and a respiratory infection. Her companion, Jelly, was in need of round-the-clock feeding. Despite their differences, the pair quickly bonded through bottle sessions and warm blankets.
Bean, with her dramatic expressions and wild, fluffy coat, grew into a spirited little character. Jelly balanced her with calm sweetness, a playful āhouse pantherā with a gentle streak. Together, they learned to eat solid food, use the litter box, and conquer kitten chaos side by side.
By the time they were ready for adoption, it was clear Jelly and Bean were a package deal. Happily, they found a forever home willing to take them both, sealing their fairy-tale ending.

Do Cats Really Have a Favorite Color?
Cats donāt see the rainbow the same way we do. While humans can distinguish reds and oranges, cats are essentially red-green colorblind, meaning those shades appear gray. Instead, they see blues and yellow-greens most clearly.
Thatās why your cat might pick the blue toy out of a pile or seem extra fond of a teal blanket. Scientists believe blue isnāt just the most visible shade for cats, but also the most calming. Animal wellness experts even suggest cool colors like blue may help promote relaxation in pets.
On the flip side, white can look uncomfortably bright to feline eyes. Since cats are more sensitive to light, a stark white wall or sofa might appear to āglow,ā which can feel unsettling. Itās one reason animal shelters often opt for softer pastel blues instead.
So, does your cat have a favorite color? While we canāt ask them directly, offering toys or blankets in different shades might give you the answer. Chances are, the blues and greens will win.

Breed Spotlight: Highlander Cat
The Highlander cat may look like it walked straight out of the wild with its muscular build, curled ears, and bobbed tail, but donāt be fooled. Beneath that exotic exterior is a playful, affectionate cat who thrives on companionship.
Bred from Desert Lynx and Jungle Curl cats, the Highlander is large, usually 15ā20 pounds, with a commanding stance that can seem intimidating. In reality, these cats are gentle giants. Theyāre energetic but not overly vocal, making them an excellent fit for apartments or busy family homes.
Highlanders love games and interactive toys, and they have a surprising fondness for water. Theyāre also quick learners, picking up training and routines with ease. Despite their size, theyāre known for being affectionate lap cats.
One of the most charming features of the breed is how approachable they are with children and other pets. Though they may look wild, Highlanders are adaptable, social, and affectionate. Their big-hearted cats wrapped up in an exotic package.
