Start by having your cat lie down, then guide a treat slowly toward their ear and over their shoulder. Most cats will follow the treat with their eyes and their body, rolling onto their side. When they do, praise and reward them immediately.

Once your cat masters rolling to one side, encourage a full roll by continuing the treat’s motion across their back. Gradually, you can replace the treat with just a hand signal or a verbal cue like “roll over.”

Keep training sessions short and always end on a positive note. With consistency and patience, your cat could be rolling over on command within a week (and looking extra proud about it).
