True or False?
Cats often chew on tinsel because they mistake it for prey.

Tortie Cat Declares It’s Not Christmas Yet
Some families wait until the Thanksgiving dishes are washed before decking the halls. Others start spinning Mariah Carey the minute the clock strikes November. But one tortie-calico named Apricot is firmly, and hilariously, on Team “Not Yet.”
In a viral TikTok, Apricot strolls into the kitchen, spots the Christmas dish towels hanging from the oven, and immediately pulls them down one by one. No hesitation, no mercy. Her stance is simple: festive towels may not appear until after the turkey has been properly honored.
Commenters rallied behind her, cheering on her seasonal boundaries. And honestly? She has a point. Fall décor deserves its moment before candy canes take over. Whether you decorate early or stick to tradition, Apricot’s message is clear: respect the timeline, hooman.

How to Cat-Proof Your Christmas Tree
The Christmas tree might be the star of your holiday décor, but to many cats, it’s basically a giant toy covered in irresistible sparkles. From batting ornaments to scaling branches, the temptation is real, and sometimes risky. A few smart tweaks can keep your cat safe and help your tree survive the season.
Start by choosing a safe spot. Keep the tree away from shelves, windowsills, and cat towers that could give your kitty a launch point. Make sure the base is sturdy, and anchor the tree if you have a climber.
Swap fragile ornaments for soft or unbreakable ones and hang anything tempting higher up. Place lights toward the trunk and hide loose wires with protectors. If you have a real tree, cover the water basin so your cat can’t drink from it.
Finally, offer alternatives: a scratching post, new toys, or even a fresh cat tree placed far from the real one. A little redirection goes a long way. With thoughtful decorating, you can keep both your cat and your Christmas tree merry and bright.

Breed Spotlight: Siberian
Siberian cats look like they walked straight out of a snowy fairy tale: big, fluffy, and built for cold weather. Even though domestic cats trace back to desert ancestors, the Siberian adapted into a sturdy, athletic breed with a famously warm personality. They’re known for being social, playful, and surprisingly affectionate without being clingy.
Kittens start out larger than average and grow slowly, often taking up to five years to reach their full size. As adults, they’re strong, curious, and love being part of whatever their humans are doing. Families especially love them because they’re gentle with kids and tend to get along well with both cats and dogs.
Their thick triple coat does require brushing a few times a week, and they’re athletic enough to need daily play. But they’re also easygoing cats who enjoy snuggling just as much as climbing and exploring.
It’s easy to see why they’re the national cat of Russia. These big-hearted fluffballs make themselves at home fast.
