A Garden Drain Kitten Rescue
When Jane spotted six kittens peeking out of her garden drain, she recognized them immediately. They were the babies of a local stray who had avoided her for years.
Jane took her time, offering food and water until the wary mama, later named Joanie, began to trust her. The kittens warmed up faster, quickly learning that snacks and cuddles came with safety. Soon, Jane was able to carry the little family inside.
Each kitten arrived with eye infections but improved with treatment. Five already have homes lined up: Jane and her husband are keeping two, friends are taking two more, and another is headed to a foster mom. The last kitten may stay with Jane if no match is found.
While Joanie still struggles with indoor life, her kittens have thrived, offering kisses, purrs, and plenty of love. What began as a surprise in a garden drain became the start of seven new lives filled with care.

The Right Way to Clean Cat Pee
Few things test a cat parent’s patience like the smell of cat pee. Whether it’s a carpet, couch, or pile of laundry, that sharp scent lingers. Plus, cats are quick to return if the odor isn’t fully removed.
The first step is figuring out why your cat missed the litter box. Sometimes it’s medical, like a urinary tract infection, and other times it’s behavioral. A dirty box, household stress, or territorial marking. Rule out health issues first with a vet check.
When it comes to cleaning, speed is your friend. Blot fresh urine, then treat the spot with an enzymatic cleaner. These break down odor-causing compounds better than vinegar or ammonia, which can actually make the smell worse. On hard floors, wipe with a gentle, pet-safe cleaner and deodorizer. For bedding or clothes, rinse first with cold water before washing with detergent and baking soda.
Above all, prevention helps most: keep litter boxes clean, provide enough boxes for your cats, and give them a calm, stress-free space.

This Is The Most Toxic Thing In Your Laundry Room
You wash your clothes to keep them clean and safe, but what if your detergent is doing the opposite?
Experts now warn that many top-selling detergents leave behind toxic residues that stick to your clothes and soak into your skin, even after rinsing.
These chemicals are absorbed into your skin, breathed into your lungs, and even transferred onto your bed sheets, underwear, and baby clothes.
Some of the worst offenders are hidden behind vague labels like “fragrance” or “brighteners,” which often contain hormone disruptors, carcinogens, and synthetic chemicals banned in other countries.
And the most shocking part is detergent companies aren't even required to list most of these ingredients.
Which is why thousands of families are ditching traditional detergents and switching to this safer, non-toxic alternative.

Pet Insurance Could Help You Offset Rising Veterinary Costs
Veterinarians nationwide reported that corporate managers pushed clinics to focus on profit, with vets often paid based on revenue. This encouraged them to see more pets, order more tests, and upsell services, creating a growing burden for uninsured pet owners. Pet insurance could help you offset some of these rising costs, with some providing up to 90% reimbursement. View Money’s top pet insurance picks to see plans starting at only $10/month.
