Firecracker’s Great Escape

Firecracker, a mischievous kitten at SPCA Florida, arrived at the shelter full of energy and curiosity, but no one realized he also had a hidden talent. At first, he seemed like your average playful kitten, always zooming around and causing chaos. However, staff soon noticed something odd — Firecracker kept escaping from his kennel, Houdini-style, while all the other cats stayed put.

After finding him free on multiple occasions, the staff finally caught him in the act. It turned out Firecracker had mastered the art of unlocking his kennel like a feline escape artist, leaving his caretakers both stunned and amused. His clever antics didn’t go unnoticed — after a video of his lock-picking skills was shared online, Firecracker’s creativity worked its magic, and he was adopted the very next day by a woman who couldn’t resist his mischievous charm.

DIY Elevated Feeding Station

Ready to upgrade your cat’s dining experience? This easy wooden feeding station will make your feline feel like a five-star chef is on staff. With just a few simple supplies, you’ll transform your cat’s mealtime into an event they’ll paw-sitively adore.

Supplies:

  • Two 4 x 4”, each cut to 3.5”

  • One 1 x 6”, cut to 10”

  • Sandpaper

  • 2” screws

  • Wood stain

Instructions:

  1. Sand all surfaces of the wood to get rid of any rough spots or potential splinters.

  2. Apply the wood stain to all three pieces of wood and allow it to dry completely.

  3. Attach the 4” x 4” legs to the tabletop with screws.

  4. If desired, you can decorate your kitty’s feeding station with fancy wood trim, decorative paint designs, a name plaque, or a shelf liner. Polyurethane can also be used to make the feeding station waterproof.

  5. Set your feline friend’s bowls on top of his new feeding station and watch him snack in style.

Hydration, Simplified

Keeping hydrated in the summer heat shouldn't be a hassle – that's where NativePath Hydrate comes in. Unlike other commercial hydration products, Native Hydrate contains high-quality amino acids that are proven to be the optimal way to hydrate, along with subtle yet effective amounts of electrolytes.

Most other hydration products contain way more sodium than you need, unless you’re working out for multiple hours every day. Native Hydrate contains the equivalent of a quarter teaspoon of salt for optimal hydration delivery without disrupting your health. It doesn’t undergo massive processing like most hydration supplements do, or have any added sugars.

With its unique blend of essential amino acids, branched-chain amino acids, electrolytes, and additional nutrients (like Calcium Carbonate, Choline Bitartrate, Riboflavin, Niacin, B6, Folate, B12, Biotin, Pantothenic Acid, Choline, and Zinc) Native Hydrate makes getting proper hydration easy and enjoyable all year long.

Preventing Feline Escapes

Cats seem to believe that every door is a gateway to a secret adventure, and they’re on a mission to discover what’s beyond. Whether they’re zipping past you like furry little ninjas or gazing longingly at the door as if it’s a portal to a buffet of endless treats, cats are natural-born escape artists. But don’t worry — you can outwit your whiskered Houdini with some clever tricks. Distract them with their favorite toy or a tasty meal before leaving, and you might just manage to sneak out alone.

Of course, if your cat is on a mission for love, neutering can put an end to their romantic escapades. Once they’re no longer driven by the call of the wild, they’ll be more interested in snuggling on the couch than organizing a jailbreak. Plus, it’s a win-win situation: fewer 2 a.m. serenades and more cuddly nap sessions.

For the truly determined escapees, a catio is like giving them the outdoors without the risk of them becoming neighborhood celebrities. It’s basically a private, enclosed patio where your kitty can enjoy fresh air and sunshine without the added drama of neighborhood escapades. Plus, it’s a great way to let them experience the thrill of the outdoors without the hassle of a search party.
