Cat of the Day, Sarabi

Meet Sarabi, Daily Purr reader Jack’s desk companion in Austin, Texas. Jack says she’s confident, observant, and knows how to claim a workspace as her own.

Whether she’s helping with scheduling or just making sure her paw prints are on the day’s to-do list, Sarabi is never far from the action. And yes—she’s officially right-pawed, which checks out for such a decisive feline.

Thanks to Cat Dad Jack for introducing us to Sarabi!

Father's Day Finds He'll Love

We know not all heroes wear capes—some come in the form of dads who show up, fix things, and maybe even scoop the litter box. That’s why we put together a Father’s Day Gift Guide full of thoughtful picks for the dads who do it all:

From low-key luxuries to genuinely useful gear, it’s a mix of gifts we’d actually give the dads in our own lives.

More Men Are Choosing Cats Over Dogs

Not long ago, cats were rarely seen as “man’s best friend.” But new data from UK Pet Food’s Pet Population Report shows that’s changing fast. Over the last four years, 27% of male adopters in the UK chose adult cats, compared to 18% of female adopters. That’s roughly 1.5 million new cat-loving men.

The appeal? Adult cats are low-maintenance, already have known personalities, and offer companionship without the chaos of raising a kitten. For busy professionals or solo dwellers, that combo is hard to beat. And many say they prefer adopting rescues rather than shopping for kittens.

It also doesn’t hurt that cats are calming. A growing number of men credit their cats for lowering stress, boosting mood, and offering a kind of quiet presence they didn’t know they needed.

Breed Spotlight: Seal Point Siamese

The Seal Point Siamese is the original, and still iconic, color variation of the Siamese breed. With cream-colored bodies and deep brown “points” on their face, ears, paws, and tails, these cats are immediately recognizable. But they’re more than a pretty face: they’re playful, intelligent, and famously vocal.

Seal Point Siamese kittens are born pale, and their markings gradually darken with age. This pattern is tied to temperature. A fun fact? Cooler parts of their bodies develop the darkest color. Their blue eyes are striking, but they come with a tradeoff: Siamese cats don’t see quite as well in low light as other breeds.

Seal Points are also natural extroverts, meaning they crave interaction and love a good chat. They're smart enough to learn tricks (fetch, anyone?) but independent enough to ignore you when it suits them.

Expect personality—and a lot of commentary—from this gorgeous, high-energy classic.
