Meet Cat of the Day, Lloyd
Meet Lloyd, Daily Purr reader Christian’s playful feline and an April Cat Of The Month finalist.
Lloyd clearly appreciates the finer things in life, like cozy baskets, cardboard boxes, and keeping everyone entertained with his big personality. According to Christian, Lloyd has two favorite hobbies: water… and biting.
Whether he’s settling into the smallest container he can find or flashing that mischievous grin, Lloyd proves that a little chaos is sometimes the best kind of fun.

How To Prepare Cats For Warmer Days
As spring temperatures begin to rise, many cats start seeking cooler places to relax. While cats often enjoy warmth, sudden increases in temperature can still make them uncomfortable. Helping them stay cool early in the season can reduce the risk of overheating as warmer days arrive.
Good airflow can make a noticeable difference. Opening windows for a breeze, using fans, or turning on air conditioning during warmer afternoons can help keep indoor spaces comfortable. Closing curtains or blinds during peak sunlight can also prevent rooms from heating up too quickly.
Hydration becomes more important as the weather warms. Many cats are more likely to drink water when it’s moving, which is why water fountains can encourage better hydration. Wet food can also help since it naturally contains more moisture than dry food.
Cats often look for naturally cool places to rest, such as tile floors or shaded areas. Providing cooling mats, shaded outdoor spots, or quiet cool corners indoors can help cats stay comfortable as spring gradually transitions into summer.

Be Ready for Vet Bills This Year
“Nine lives” sounds great until your cat decides to test that theory by swallowing a hair tie. Or leaping into a half-empty laundry basket. Or discovering that the curtain is, in fact, not a ladder.
This year, don’t just hope for the best, prepare for their worst (and most adorable) ideas.
With the Nibbles Pet Rewards Credit Card, you get complimentary pet insurance, so a curious nibble or a gravity-defying stunt doesn’t lead to a budget-defying bill. Plus, earn 3x rewards on pet purchases at pet stores, pet services, and the vet, so you can spoil them even more (as if they’d have it any other way).
Nibbles is not a bank. The Nibbles card is issued by Lead Bank. Fees and T&C apply. Eligibility rules apply.
Thank you to Nibbles for sponsoring Daily Purr.

Do Cats Really Need Baths?
Many cat owners wonder whether their pets need regular baths. Unlike dogs, most cats are excellent self-groomers and typically keep themselves clean without much help. Their tongues are covered with tiny barbs that help remove dirt and loose fur while spreading natural oils through the coat.
Bathing a cat too often can actually cause problems. Frequent baths may strip away those natural oils, which help keep a cat’s skin and coat healthy. For many cats, unnecessary baths can also create stress since most felines strongly dislike water.
That said, there are situations where a bath can help. Cats dealing with flea infestations, skin conditions, or certain medical issues may benefit from medicated baths recommended by a veterinarian. Long-haired cats or older cats that struggle with grooming may also occasionally need extra help staying clean.
In general, most healthy cats don’t require routine baths. Regular brushing and good grooming habits are usually enough to keep their coats in good condition.
