Not Even a Dust Storm Could Keep These Two Apart
Five years after disappearing, a 14-year-old cat named Binks was spotted wandering the streets of Chicago. A kind-hearted local named Shainy took him in, brought him to a vet to be scanned for a microchip, and gave him food, gentle pets, and sunny windows while they searched for his family.
The chip was still active, but the listed contact information didnât lead anywhere. Thatâs when Microchip Hunters, a group that tracks down dead-end pet registrations, stepped in. Volunteer Weslee followed the trail to a backup contact: Binksâ ownerâs ex-husband in Indianapolis.
He was shocked to learn Binks was aliveâand didnât hesitate to hop in the car and drive through a dust storm to bring him home.
Now, after years of adventure (and likely more than a few sunbeam naps), Binks is back where he belongs.

Tips to Stop Your Catâs Biting
Cats bite for all kinds of reasonsâplay, stress, or even just because theyâve had enough pets for one day. But biting isnât just a kitten phase, and itâs not something you have to live with.
Start by learning what triggers your cat. Some nip when overstimulated, others bite out of boredom. Instead of using your hands for play, redirect their energy with toys that mimic preyâthink feathers, mice, or wand toys. When your cat chooses a toy over your hand, reward them with praise or treats.
If biting happens during petting, watch for signs like tail flicks or skin ripples and stop before they get overwhelmed. And if your usually sweet cat suddenly turns feisty, pain or illness might be the cause. In this case, it may be best to check in with your vet.
With patience, consistency, and a few soft toys, your cat can learn better habits and keep all ten of your fingers intact.
