This Hairless Kitten Chose Her New Mom

A tiny Sphynx kitten named Stitch arrived at a veterinary clinic with a serious eye injury that could no longer be treated. While veterinarians were unable to save her eye, they were able to save her life. Wrapped in a tiny sweater to stay warm, the hairless kitten quickly charmed everyone around her with nonstop purring and constant cuddles.

When her future owner came to meet her, Stitch made the decision easy. The kitten curled up in her arms, fell asleep almost instantly, and acted like she had already found home. It was clear the affectionate little cat was ready to leave her difficult start behind.

Stitch adjusted quickly to her new family and soon met Alaska, the family dog. The two bonded almost immediately, cuddling together and following each other everywhere around the house. Before long, they had become inseparable companions.

Now, Stitch spends her days wrapped in blankets, snuggled beside her dog best friend, and soaking up attention from the people who adore her. For a kitten once in need of saving, she seems fully focused on enjoying every bit of love around her.

How to Help Cats Beat the Summer Heat

Cats are surprisingly good at handling warm weather, but extreme heat can still become dangerous. During hot days, many cats naturally seek out cool surfaces like tile floors, shady corners, or quiet spots away from the sun. Grooming also helps, since saliva evaporating from their fur can lower body temperature.

Even with those built-in cooling tricks, cats can still overheat. Panting, drooling, unusual pacing, or acting sluggish can all be warning signs that your cat is getting too hot. In more serious cases, overheating can lead to heatstroke, which may cause vomiting, trouble walking, or breathing difficulties.

A few small adjustments can make a big difference during summer. Fresh water around the house, fans, shaded areas, and closed blinds during the hottest part of the day can help keep indoor spaces cooler. Many cats also enjoy pet fountains or cooling mats, especially during long stretches of heat.

Outdoor time is safest in the early morning or evening when temperatures are lower. And no matter the weather, cats should never be left in a parked car, where temperatures can rise dangerously fast within minutes.

Is There a Better Option Than Shaving?

For a lot of people, hair removal is one of those ongoing tasks that quietly eats up time, money, and energy. Shaving can lead to razor burn and ingrown hairs. Waxing takes planning, patience, and regular appointments. Even then, the results don’t always last as long as you’d hope.

LaserAway helps make smooth skin easier to maintain. They have performed millions of treatments using advanced laser technology that works on all skin types. Treatments are designed to target unwanted hair at the root, so hair grows back thinner, softer, and less dense over time.

Laser hair removal also helps soften and smooth skin, while reducing common issues like ingrown hairs and razor burn. Treatments are available for the face and body, including arms, legs, bikini area, and more. LaserAway also offers bundled options if you’re looking to treat multiple areas at once, making it easier to save both time and money in the long run.

For a limited time, Daily Purr readers get 70% off their first treatment. If you’re ready to simplify your routine and spend less time shaving or waxing see if laser hair removal is right for you.

Breed Spotlight: Sphynx

Sphynx cats are hard to forget. With their nearly hairless bodies, oversized ears, and expressive faces, they tend to stand out immediately. But their personality is often what surprises people most. These cats are known for being affectionate, social, and deeply attached to their humans, often following people from room to room just to stay close.

Unlike more independent cats, the Sphynx usually wants to be part of everything happening in the house. They are playful, vocal, and curious, and many enjoy learning tricks or even walking on a leash. Their outgoing personality also means they often get along well with children, visitors, and other pets.

Their lack of fur does come with extra care needs. Because natural oils are not absorbed by a coat, Sphynx cats need regular baths and ear cleaning to stay comfortable. They are also more sensitive to temperature changes, which means warm blankets and sunny spots quickly become favorite places.

Even with the added upkeep, many owners say the breed’s affectionate personality makes it worth it. Sphynx cats may look unusual, but they are known for turning into loyal shadows once they settle into a home.
