Did You Know…?

Why does my cat like high places, like on top of the fridge?

This Senior Cat Got His Cap and Gown Too

When a kitten named Meow Meow joined the family, his human sister was just a toddler. Over the next 17 years, the two were inseparable. So when Meow Meow got seriously ill years ago, his sister made a heartfelt request: please don’t leave until she graduated high school.

He listened. And this month, just days before her graduation, they posed together for a cap and gown photo shoot—him in his own miniature regalia.

ā€œHe has held on for this moment,ā€ their mom shared. ā€œHe deserves to graduate, too.ā€

Meow Meow recently turned 17, and the family celebrated both milestones with photos, cuddles, and a little birthday party. After a lifetime of love, it was one more beautiful moment to share.

The Truth About Your Cat’s Saggy Tummy

If you’ve ever seen your cat’s belly swing side to side while they walk or run, you’re not imagining things. That flap is called a primordial pouch, and it’s something all cats have, no matter how fit or floofy.

This extra skin and fat sit along the lower belly, and it serves some clever evolutionary purposes. It may protect vital organs in a cat fight, allow for better stretch and speed, or even make room for large meals back when food was scarce. Some breeds, like the Bengal and Egyptian Mau, have especially prominent pouches.

It’s easy to mistake the pouch for body fat, but it’s soft and hangs low, unlike the firm padding of an overweight cat. If your kitty is lean elsewhere and just has a jiggle, that pouch is likely doing its job. Still not sure? A quick check-in with your vet can help you tell the difference.

India’s Grumpiest Cat Takes Over a House

In the remote village of Hanle, India, a famously elusive cat did something entirely unexpected: she moved in. A female Pallas’s cat, known locally as Ribilik, took up residence in a couple’s stone house on the edge of the Himalayas. The family, stunned but respectful, chose to move out and let her raise her kittens in peace.

Pallas’s cats are famously hard to spot, thanks to their camouflaged coats and ghost-like habits. But this mother wasn’t just raising her young—she was adapting. She hunted voles in nearby marshland, even learning to swim through deep water, a behavior rarely seen in the species.

Photographer Puskar Basu documented the cat's daily routine for weeks, capturing her as she crept through dawn light and returned to her kittens.

The villagers protected her space with barricades and compassion. When she finally moved on with her kittens, she left behind more than pawprints—she reminded a whole village how powerful coexistence can be.

He’s already IPO’d once – this time’s different

Spencer Rascoff grew Zillow from seed to IPO. But everyday investors couldn’t join until then, missing early gains. So he did things differently with Pacaso.
