Security Cam Catches Cat’s Midnight Mission

When one cat mom noticed her indoor cat relaxing in the grass outside, she was baffled. The door had been closed all night, and her cat was supposed to be indoors. Curious and slightly alarmed, she pulled up her security footage.

That’s when she saw it. Her cat had somehow slipped out and spent the night leaping across the yard, tail twitching, fully locked into hunter mode.

The explanation for this indoor cat’s escape? Cats don’t need to hunt to survive, but they love to stalk, chase, and pounce. It’s hardwired into them. Even well-fed indoor cats will tap into their wild side.

For escape-prone explorers, try enriching their space with toys, puzzles, or a safe enclosed yard. But be warned: the next time your cat goes missing, she might just be out living her double life.

Breed Spotlight: Black Burmese

With their sleek black coats and golden eyes, Black Burmese cats are hard to miss. But it’s their dog-like devotion and playful energy that really sets them apart. These medium-sized cats are known for being social, affectionate, and often glued to their favorite person.

The Burmese breed first came to the U.S. in the 1930s, but early confusion with Siamese cats led to some drama at cat shows. After a brief loss of recognition in the 1940s, the breed made a comeback. And today, the Black Burmese is among the most popular color variations.

These cats are curious, energetic, and happiest when they’re involved in whatever you’re doing. They often greet you at the door and will follow you from room to room.

If you’re gone often, this might not be the cat for you. But for families looking for a playful, loyal companion, the Black Burmese makes an unforgettable addition.

Welcome a shelter dog into your family!

Opening your home to a shelter dog brings joy, love, and loyalty beyond measure.

Sadly, some popular breeds like Golden Retrievers and French Bulldogs suffer from painful genetic health issues due to inbreeding. Rather than supporting breeding that causes suffering, consider adopting.

Shelters are full of loving dogs ready for a second chance. If you’re set on a specific breed, many rescue groups specialize in breed-specific adoption.

Will you pledge to adopt your next dog instead of buying? Give a shelter dog a chance at a loving forever home.

Can Chickens Help With Cat Allergies?

If you’re allergic to cats, help might come from a surprising place: Chickens! When chickens live near cats, their bodies make something called an antibody. This antibody fights Fel d 1, the protein in cat saliva that causes most cat allergies in people.

The antibody shows up in the egg yolks. When cats eat food made with these eggs, they may produce less of the Fel d 1 protein. In one study, cats who ate these special eggs had less allergen on their fur after a few weeks.

The catch? People can’t eat the eggs to stop their own allergies. It only works when the cat eats them.

While this doesn’t totally cure cat allergies, it could definitely help. Scientists are still learning how well it works. In the meantime, people with cat allergies can try using air filters, washing hands often, or keeping cats out of bedrooms to feel better.
