His routine tugged at everyone’s hearts, so the shelter documented a full day of Paisley waiting. The video reached thousands overnight, but one message stood out. A woman named Batsy saw the clip, showed her husband, and immediately applied to adopt him. They’d been missing their late cat for years, and knew instantly that Paisley was the one.

The family drove four hours the next morning, and Paisley seemed to recognize them right away. He followed their son, chased shadows, and settled into their arms as if he’d been waiting specifically for them.

Now renamed Shadow, he spends his days curled on the couch, chatting with his new family, and soaking up all the affection he once watched from behind glass. His waiting is finally over.

This rare breed has a soft, semi-long coat, gentle golden eyes, and a personality that leans equal parts affectionate and delightfully talkative, though their “talking” comes in soft chirps rather than real meows.
