Swimmy the Rescue Cat Takes His First Steps

Swimmy’s story starts in heartbreaking circumstances. Born in a small carrier, he and his littermates never had room to move, let alone learn to walk. By the time rescuers stepped in, his muscles were so weak he could only scoot across the floor.

But with daily physical therapy, patience, and love from his foster mom, Swimmy slowly built up strength. First came standing, then cautious steps, and finally full-on leaps. Before long, he was climbing cat trees and curling up in cozy beds like any other cat.

Today, Swimmy isn’t just surviving. He’s thriving. His journey from confinement to freedom shows what’s possible when compassion and care give a cat the second chance they deserve.

How to Give Your Cat More Fun at Home

Cats may act aloof, but they crave stimulation just as much as attention (and maybe more). Without enrichment, boredom can lead to stress, mischief, and even health issues. The good news? It doesn’t take much to make their world more exciting.

Start with food-based play. Puzzle feeders, treat balls, or even DIY options like paper bags with hidden snacks encourage cats to ā€œhuntā€ and slow down while eating. Sensory fun matters, too. Catnip, bird videos, or even brushing sessions give cats ways to explore with all five senses.

Don’t forget their environment. Cat trees, perches, and sturdy scratching posts let them climb, hide, and stretch. Social play and training sessions, like clicker work, build confidence and strengthen your bond. And for adventurous cats, supervised outdoor time with a harness or catio offers safe new sights and smells.

Enrichment is about choice, variety, and letting cats be cats. Even small changes can transform a regular day into an adventure.

What if You Never Had to Clean Gutters Again?

Most gutter guards promise the world but still leave you climbing ladders to clear debris.

LeafGuard takes a completely different approach—instead of adding another layer to your existing gutters, they replace your entire system with a one-piece design that's engineered so debris never gets inside.

The science is pretty straightforward: water follows the curved hood into the gutter using liquid adhesion, while leaves, pine needles, and debris roll right off. No joints mean no leaks, and the aluminum is 20% thicker than standard gutters. With over 650,000 ladder-related injuries happening annually, eliminating gutter maintenance isn't just convenient—it's smart.

Daily Purr readers can take advantage of 75% off installation plus an additional $200 off. That's significant savings on a system backed by a lifetime no-clog guarantee and 25+ years of proven performance.

Meet Cat of the Day, Mochi

This is Mochi, a 3-month-old bundle of energy and love. Weighing in at just 2 pounds, he’s equal parts zoomies and cuddles.

When he’s not busy chasing after his older canine sister, Mochi can be found playing with his favorite feather ball or curled up on his mom’s chest, purring loudly with sweet love eyes and nose boops.

And when the playtime winds down, he enjoys sunbathing in the tallest bed of his tower, keeping watch from his favorite sunny spot.
